Manufacturing wooden musical & general products since 1985

Wood Quality

Wood is the heart of everything we make, so we care about it first. This page explains what to expect from a Wood Master product.

Choosing the wood

Each product page names the wood it is made from, for example rose wood, so you always know what you are buying. Hardwoods such as rose wood are chosen for their strength, their warm colour and the clear, lasting tone they give to musical instruments.

Made by hand

Our products are shaped, sanded and finished by skilled hands in our own workshop, the way our family has done it since 1985. This is why no two pieces are exactly alike.

Natural grain and colour

Real wood has its own grain, shade and small marks. These variations are natural and are part of the character of a handmade piece. They are not defects. The photos on this website show typical examples.

Finish and checking

Surfaces are sanded smooth and finished so that each piece feels good in the hand. Before an order is packed, we check the pieces for shape, finish and sound.

Looking after your products

  • Keep wooden items away from standing water, damp places and direct heat.
  • Wipe them with a soft, dry cloth.
